One of the biggest bonuses about using the Terapad Content Management Platform for a small business is the ability to keep and maintain control over the copy and images on your website. Sometimes, even though you may have attended a training session, or even had me train you one-on-one, you may forget how to do something. I will be posting a weekly reminder / refresher information. Please respond, email or call with your reactions, ideas for new posts, or ideas for something that might help someone else.
This week I will do my best to give you a HOW TO reminder for Uploading Images.
REMINDER -
There are two ways to have pictures on your Terapad website.
1) You can upload images from your computer to the "Assets" folder for use on the content pages of your site.
2) You can upload images from your computer DIRECTLY to a "Gallery."
This post is ONLY for Number 1...How to upload a picture and place it on a page in your site.
HOW TO UPLOAD AN IMAGE TO THE ASSETS FOLDER
1. Login to your website's Control Panel. You can find the Control Panel by entering "/cpanel" after your website's URL. You should have your username and password at the ready.
2. CLICK on the Assets folder
3. Create or Select the folder and subfolder where you want to put your image.
4. On the left sidebar, click one of the "browse" buttons. This will allow you to navigate around your computer locally to find the image you want.
5. Once you have found the image you want to upload, click the "select" button.
6. This will take you back to your Control Panel. At this point you may browse for another image if you like, or...
7. CLICK the "upload" button to upload the image, and to place it in the selected folder.
Now that you have an image in the proper folder within your ASSETS tab, you can place it in a CONTENT page within your website.
HOW TO PLACE AN IMAGE INTO A PAGE:
1) Click on the PAGES tab from your Control Panel.
2) Open the Section Folder you want to work in...OR scroll to the bottom and click on the "Expand All" link to get a look at all of your pages.
3) Navigate to the page you want to add a picture by clicking on the page title. Once the page opens in the editor area, click on the location you want to place a picture within the Page Editing Area.
4) Click the "Insert/Edit Image" button that looks like a mountain. This will pop open the "insert/edit image" mini-control panel. To place an image into this page from the ASSETS folder, click on the "Browse Server" button. This will pop open another box, this one looks suspiciously like the ASSETS tab.
5) Navigate to the folder or sub-folder to find the picture you want to place in your page. When you have located the proper image...CLICK directly on the image. This will place the relative URL that Terapad automatically creates INTO the "url" field in the "insert/edit image" mini control panel.
6) Click Save and your image is placed in your page.
NOTE: You can always change the size of your image slightly by clicking ONCE on it within the editor and then clicking on the "insert/edit image" button (the mountain icon). Once the mini control panel pops up, simply enter the approximate pixel amount you are looking for in ONE of the dimensions...the other will automatically adjust.
If you need to change the size of your image a lot because it is WAY too large, you should do that from within the ASSETS folder FIRST. I will cover that procedure in a separate post.
I hope you have found this post useful...or at least useful in the future. Later this week I will cover a marketing topic...any questions or suggestions?

It’s a cool add-on, It only needs the min, max, and exit buttons to make it a common used feature for firefox. One thing came to my mind – it’s slick interface. And why couldn’t Firefox match up? Well it most certainly can and has. I present to you FfChrome 1.7 beta. This now not only does trim your context menus, it allows you to transform your browser into a Google Chrome equivalent interface on the fly and back again. Check out this image. |
